And so it begins...

Exiting News!  It will soon be time for the first event of the Jamestown Concert Association’s 2018-2019 concert series.  Here is an overview of what the season holds:
  • Roberto and Paola Plano – Four Hands, One Piano  |  www.robertoplano.com
    • Friday, October 12, 2018  |  8:00 PM St. Luke’s Episcopal Church
    • Robert and Paola are an Italian husband and wife piano duo. Roberto won the 2001 Cleveland International Piano Competition at the age of 23.  His wife, the lovely Paola Del Negro is an accomplished pianist in her own right.  She made her solo debut at the age of 9 in Turin and continued to win competitions and accolades throughout Europe.
  • Angel Spirits: Music of World War I  www.deborahselig.com
    • Friday, November 2, 2018   |  8:00 PM St. Luke’s Episcopal Church
    • Deborah Selig – Soprano, David McFerrin – Baritone, and Jerry Noble – Pianist, combine talents to present a tribute to the 100th anniversary of the First World War, this Boston area trio brings a moving American musical collage to the stage. This concert is dedicated to the powerful song literature of the WWI era composed by Claude Debussy, Charles Ives, George Cohan, Irving Berlin, and many others.

    • Sleigh bells ring, are you listening?   In the lane, snow is glistening.  A beautiful sight, we're happy tonight….so let the festivities begin! Glen Cortese conducts the Western New York Chamber Orchestra on the elegant stage of the Reg Lenna Center for The Arts in our annual evening of light classics and holiday favorites.  Don’t miss this popular Jamestown December tradition that celebrates the warmth and spirit of the season!  Arrive early for pre-concert refreshments and merriment in the stunningly refurbished Reg Lenna Center lobby.

    • Friday, March 22, 2019  |  8:00 PM St. Luke’s Episcopal Church
    • Chamber Orchestra Kremlin, founded and led by Misha Rachlevsky, has earned national and international recognition as one of Russia's leading ensembles. Founded in 1991, the orchestra, comprising some of Russia's finest young string players, has carved a niche for itself under the creative baton of its founder and music director Misha Rachlevsky.
  • Aimee Toner, flutist  |  Principal flutist, New York Youth Symphony
    • Friday, April 12, 2019  |  8:00 PM St. Luke’s Episcopal Church
    • Aimee Toner is a junior at Barnard College pursuing a double major in Ethnomusicology and Economics. She is also in the Manhattan School of Music Lesson Exchange. Toner has performed in numerous esteemed ensembles and venues along the East Coast. She has led in orchestral settings by playing principal, piccolo, and assistant parts for the New York Youth Symphony, the Columbia University Orchestra, the American Youth Orchestra, and the Columbia Pops Orchestra.

    • Friday, May 17, 2019  |  8:00 PM St. Luke’s Episcopal Church
    • Tom Gallant – oboe, Steve Larson – viola, and Sally Pinkas – piano comprise this dazzling, colorful trio of soloists, the members of Ensemble Schumann present works by their name-sake Robert Schumann, as well as by Brahms, Saint-Saëns, Loeffler, Poulenc, Shostakovich and others. Ensemble Schumann has been featured at the prestigious Da Camera Series in Los Angeles, the Clark Art Museum in Massachusetts and on Live From Fraser on WGBH- Radio in Boston.
All-in-all, it promises to be a fabulous season!  Looking forward to seeing you there.
